Emily is an avid reader! She always has a book going and during her peak months reads 8-10 books. Of all of the books she read this year these are her top 5! Here are her quick synopsis of each read:
“The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley” by Courtney Walsh is about the turning point in Isadora’s life. At her 30th birthday she realizes that she might not actually be happy. She then begins an experiment to see if little things really do make her happy. This was my absolute favorite read of 2024 and a book I think everyone would benefit from reading!
“Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting” by Clare Pooley is charming. Iona is an iconic, stand out woman in her late fifties. She rides the same train car everyday on her commute to work. One day, she opens up to a passenger and soon the entire train car becomes friends. They each offer and receive some help from one another and become connected in a way that will make you smile and laugh.
“Funny Story” by Emily Henry is probably my favorite of her books. Daphne, a book loving librarian, finds herself no longer engaged to Peter. Find out her unlikely friendship and her journey to discover what real love looks and feels like. It will make you laugh and cry!
“The Women” by Kristin Hannah is her typical historical fiction championing women. This is probably one of my favorites. It is set during the time of the Vietnam War and follows a young woman as she joins the army and serves as a nurse on the front lines of the war. Read about her courage, struggle and her resolve to give back.
“Pack up the Moon” by Kristan Higgins is a darling book about love and loss. Read about Josh and Lauren’s relationship and how she continued to share her love for him even after her passing. It was so sweet to watch their love for each other grow through their actions. I can’t wait to read it again!
