Christmas time is so magical and one of the best traditions is getting out the Christmas books to read every year. You can get them out and just have them around for the kids to read or you can wrap them and have the kids open a “new” one every night. I’ve rounded up some of our favorite Christmas books below.
Older
Christmas at Hogwarts
This book starts in chapter 12 of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone taking text straight from the book and gives us more magic that happens in the Gryffindor Common room, Great Hall and everywhere else in the castle!
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
The Herdmans are the worst kids ever and they take over the Christmas pageant one year. They cause havoc and make people mad but the town is able to find the true meaning of Christmas. This one also came out as a movie recently that you could go see together.
Would You Rather Christmas Edition
Creative challenges, competitive games, 160 would you rather Christmas questions that are fun for the whole family!
The Polar Express
A family favorite, it doesn’t feel like Christmas until we read the Polar Express and drink hot chocolate.
Middle
The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey
A sweet story about a grumpy old man who has a special request from a widower and her son. This book always touches my heart.
How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney?
Do you know how Santa goes down the chimney? Does he go feetfirst or headfirst? What happens if he gets stuck or there is no chimney? This book is super funny and funny art is a family favorite!
How Winston Delivered Christmas
When Winston finds a lost letter for Santa he goes on a mission to deliver the letter to Santa. The cutest little Christmas mouse we all love.
Olive, the Other Reindeer
Obviously a favorite in our house with our own Olive. This Olive however, thinks she’s a reindeer and heads to the North Pole to help Santa and the reindeer to deliver presents.
Younger
The Little Reindeer
The cutest little story about a little girl befriending a lost reindeer and going on an adventure together.
S is for Santa
A cute alphabet book that explains who Santa is and what Christmas is to toddlers.
Red Sled
A group of woodland creatures take a little girl’s sled and ride it through the night. The artwork in this book is beautiful.
Moo, Baa, Fa La La La La!
A cute twist to Moo, Baa, La La La! About the farm animals celebrating Christmas together.
