I have gotten a lot of requests from people asking to see the details of our son’s nursery that we did.
The great thing about having kids now a days is that there is Pinterest. All the time I hear people say, “We didn’t have Pinterest when I was having kids.” Okay! I get it. Well, we have it and we’re going to use it. So quit complaining and enjoy the amazing nurseries that people are creating.
We first saw a picture of a wall and that is what inspired us.
We saw this navy chevron wall and loved how it was a different style of chevron, but still fun and cute. The problem was, it wasn’t easy.
That made us stick with the navy color, but we still went with stripes. Three different sizes to mix it up, but also make it fun and stylish.
We didn’t want to do a theme, but it turn out that we did fall in love with Where the Wild Things Are and used some from ideas that we did see on Pinterest that were easier to do.
My wife is an art lover, especially Picasso. So when we found this piece at IKEA we had to get it and the baby always checks it out when he gets changed.
To work off the animals I fell in love with these fun animal hooded towels from Restoration Hardware.
Since my wife was a teacher we have books on books on books. And of course fun learning toys that we put in Land of Nod baskets. This bookcase is great from IKEA.
And finally, we took the old glider that my wife had in her class room. I sanded the whole thing, painted it, and my wife added the new pad to make it a little more modern, but kept the fun memories.
There you have it. A nursery that we love, but love having our fun little boy in it more. the great thing about Pinterest is you don’t have to use just one idea, you can take separate ideas and put them together. For more ideas, check out my Pinterest board just for nurseries.
