(Dad Life, Food, Fitness & the Chaos in Between)
If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ve probably picked up on a few things about me—dad of four, lover of good food, always testing something new, and just trying to figure out life one day at a time.
But there’s a lot you don’t see in a quick Instagram post or a 30-second reel.
So I thought it’d be fun to pull back the curtain a bit and share 100 things you might not know about The Modern Dad—from parenting and fitness to food obsessions and everyday life.
👨👧👦 Dad Life: The Core of Everything
At the center of it all, I’m a dad. Everything else comes after that.
-
I’m a dad of four kids…and yes, it’s as chaotic as it sounds
-
I’m constantly trying to be more intentional with my time as a parent
-
I believe connection matters more than perfection in parenting
-
Some of the best conversations with my kids happen at bedtime
-
I try to do one-on-one time with each kid (even when it’s hard to schedule)
-
I’ve learned that kids don’t need big moments—they need consistent ones
Fatherhood is easily the best—and hardest—thing I’ve ever done.
🍔 Food Is Basically a Love Language
If you’ve followed me for even a week, you know this is true.
-
I will absolutely drive across cities for a good food recommendation
-
I take food taste tests way too seriously (just kidding)
-
I trust follower suggestions more than Google reviews
-
I’ve eaten multiple meals in a day “for content” (no regrets)
-
I love recreating restaurant meals at home
-
I believe simple food done well beats fancy food every time
Also…if there’s a “best chicken sandwich” debate, I’m in.
🏃 Fitness, Health & Trying to Stay Consistent
I’m not about perfection—I’m about consistency.
-
I’ve run multiple marathons (and still sign up for more)
-
I’ve seriously considered training for an Ironman
-
I focus on realistic fitness routines for busy dads
-
I’m always trying to increase my protein intake
-
Incline walking? Underrated.
-
I care more about how I feel than how I look
Health isn’t about extremes—it’s about what you can actually stick to.
👕 Style That Actually Works for Real Life
I’m not trying to be a fashion influencer…but I do like looking put together.
-
I prioritize comfort + style
-
If I love something, I’ll wear it on repeat
-
I’m all about neutral, easy outfits
-
I have a bit of an obsession for name brands. Quality for me has become quantity
-
I love shopping at places we don’t have in Utah. Usually those items and places become my current obsession
Because let’s be honest—most dads aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel, we just want to look good without overthinking it.
📱 The Content Creator Side You Don’t Always See
There’s a lot that goes into what I share.
-
I think about content ideas at the most random times
-
I’ve filmed in public more times than I can count
-
I rewrite captions way more than I should
-
I actually read your messages and comments (and I appreciate the friendships we’ve made)
-
I only share things I genuinely use or believe in
At the end of the day, my goal is simple:
create content that’s helpful, real, and worth your time.
📚 Books, Learning & Always Growing
One thing people don’t always expect—I read a lot.
-
I have a stack of books I am been needing to read, but haven’t prioritized it
-
I love both nonfiction and personal development
-
I constantly have a running “to-read” list, but never checking it off
-
I’ll reread books that really stick with me
-
I really love reading with and to may kids
Reading has honestly been one of the best habits I need to get back into, even if it’s auto books.
🏡 Everyday Life (The Stuff That Actually Matters)
Most of life isn’t highlight reels—it’s the little things.
-
I genuinely enjoy grocery shopping
-
I love a good organization system
-
I’m always testing products to see what’s actually worth it
-
I believe small changes can make life easier
-
I’m constantly trying to simplify things for our family
Because when life gets busy (which it always does), simple wins matter.
😂 Personality Traits (For Better or Worse)
Let’s be honest…this might explain a lot.
-
I laugh at my own jokes
-
I think I’m funnier than my kids do
-
I get way too passionate about food rankings
-
I will absolutely overcommit if I’m excited about something
-
I believe humor makes everything better
And yes…I fully embrace the dad joke life.
💡 The Bigger Picture
At the end of the day, here’s what it all comes down to:
-
I want to be a better dad every day
-
I want to build something meaningful
-
I want my kids to be proud of what I’ve created
-
I want my content to actually help people
-
And I’m just figuring it out as I go—like everyone else
Final Thoughts
If you’ve made it this far, first of all—impressive.
But more importantly, thanks for being here.
Whether you’re here for:
-
parenting advice
-
food recommendations
-
fitness motivation
-
or just a little real-life chaos**
I’m glad you’re part of this.
Because behind all the content, the lists, the taste tests, and the posts…
I’m just a dad trying to do his best.
