Obsession Confession: Watch Obsession

Some may say I have a slight obsession with oversized watches.  It all began on my first trip to New York where I purchased a huge Rolex for $40. Clearly it wasn’t real, but I didn’t care. I loved having the arm candy and got so many complements that the next day I bought four other watches.  There is something timeless and classic about having a watch as an accessory.  I personally like gold, but have several other colors as well. My watches make a statement.  So much so that if I don’t have one on, people notice.

So today I want to share with you my top three favorite watch brands.

1. Nixon- The other day I was out wearing my Nixon hat and watch and some kid asked if I worked for them. If only he knew I represent them in so many ways.  We chuckled a little because we may have named our son after the brand, we were that obsessed. I love my Nixon watches! I have a couple of them but love how they fit, and how they accent everything I wear. A great investment if you are looking for something nice. My wife, although she loves my obsession won’t let me spend more than $100 on a watch but so she stalks Nordstrom Rack and Nordstroms for my favorite watches to go on sale. It is possible to be stylish on a budget.

2. Diesel- Probably my second favorite brand that I own. I love the bulkiness of Diesel watches, but also the deepness of the gold coloring. They are definitely more of a darker gold than my Nixon watches are. With Diesel I have always liked the huge faced ones, but tend to purchase the smaller faces in the end. They get heavy and I’m not gonna lie, after wearing them day after day your wrist starts to hurt a bit. Still, I will always gravitate to Diesel for a good price point and classic look.

3. Rolex – I know, they’re super expensive and there is no way my wife will ever let me get a real one when I only get a $100 budget for a watch. That being said, a Rolex watch takes a boy and turns him into a gentleman. Rolex is a classic statement watch that everyone recognizes. This timeless piece will go down in history, something to pass on to your first son, and he will pass down making it a piece for generations to enjoy. It also makes me think that one day I will walk into the Rolex store, get the watch I want, and not even flinch about the purchase because I know that I have worked hard for it.

There you have it. Three very different, but amazing watch brands and styles. I promise you, if you look hard enough you can find that perfect watch for you and when you do, don’t hesitate to buy it because you will regret it when it’s gone. And that is why I have such a watch obsession.
