I did it! I signed up to run another marathon. The Salt Lake City marathon was doing a giveaway and I had to do everything to win. Once I won, I realized what I had done and went right into hibernation. Then I realized the race is in April and figured I needed to get out of bed, throw on my winter dadlete apparel, and start up the training again.
When I was training for my last marathon, it was great because most of the training time was during the summer months. I would get up early to run outside because that was when it was cooler. Now that winter is here in Utah, running anytime outside is going to be cooler—way cooler.
I knew that I needed to get some new winter running gear. Really as long as my upper body is warm I am good. The Russell Athletic Fusion Knit Fleece is my absolute favorite. I don’t want to run with a heavy, thick jacket, but I like to keep warm. The features sold me:
- Binding on sleeve and hood to keep warm in and wind out
- Chest pocket
- Premium softness and multi-stretch fabric
- Scuba hood with mesh lining
As a dadlete (dad + athlete = dadlete), I want to keep showing my kids that it’s important to keep exercising. During the winter months I would rather be in bed. I don’t take them with me on my cold runs, but I love it when I am running back home and come in the house to them welcoming me with warm hugs.
If you are looking for the perfect gift for the dadlete in your life, then head over to the nearest Walmart and pick up a Fusion Knit Fleece for your dad. I promise he will love it and you will love seeing dad in a modern look rather than looking like a giant marshmallow this year. It’s the perfect winter dadlete apparel.
