The Details of V Day

Tomorrow is the big day where we love to show our love. We go out of our way to express love, give tokens of love and be with those we love.

When I was younger I would come home from school with bags and bags of cards, gifts, toys, candies, chocolates, you name it from all of my secret admirers. In fact, in junior high I was given a huge troll doll. Best gift ever! So just because I’m 32 doesn’t mean that I can’t continue in giving valentines, right?

We recently went to a baby shower (yes, I showed up at the end to see the cute house it was at) and they had the cutest little treats. Strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla wafer cookies with a bit of dipped chocolate and sprinkles to liven them up. I figured this was a simple, easy treat to make, put in bags, and take to all my Sunday school kids cause everyone deserves to have a Valentine.

It’s funny because now that we have Pinterest I feel like people get more and more creative because they have a way of seeing what everyone else is doing and try it out themselves. We recently saw hearts cut out of fabric and sewn into little heart pillows. Then we put these into one of our glass apothecary jars and pow a perfect Valentine decoration.

And of course, I love to make sure that I am dressed in a new valentine outfit. This year I have no idea where the time went, but I did make sure that my son has his outfit.

So I hope you have a happy Valentines Day with the ones you love and you show them that you really care. If that means decorating the house, making treats for others, or giving those you love something that you love dearly.
