These dream bars have been in our family for years! It is the favorite recipe of my grandma. She passed it on to my mom who makes it often for art gallery shows and other gatherings. Now I make it for fun with friends. It is always requested at gatherings.

Ingredients
- Shortbread crust
- 3/4 c butter
- 3/4 c brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c flour
- Topping
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1 1/2 t vanilla
- 3/4 t salt
- 3 T flour
- 1 1/2 t baking powder
- 2 1/4 c coconut
- 1 1/2 c chopped nuts
Instructions
- Mix the ingredients for the shortbread, making a crumbly mass. Pat into a 9x13 pan and bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Make topping while the shortbread cooks.
- Beat eggs, vanilla and sugar.
- Mix dry ingredients and sift over coconut and nuts. Add to egg mixture. Pour on crust and bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
