As a working father, a lot of guys come home from work thinking their wife should have dinner ready. Because what have they been doing? Watching the kids? Ummm that’s probably more work than you’ve been doing. It’s time to step it up as a father and make dinner when you get home from work. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy or difficult, but here I share my five father friendly recipes.
One place I tend to look for simple recipes is my friend The Recipe Critic. She has a huge assortment of options, you can’t go wrong with anything she makes. But these recipes are so simple that you will be able to whip them up the moment you get home from work. Giving your wife a break from the stress of what to make for the family. Not only are they easy, but they are super yummy they whole family will love them.
What are simple chicken recipes?
A simple go to is just stopping at Costco on your way home from work and grabbing a rotisserie chicken. Seriously, so good, and you can make some rice and steamed vegetables to go with it. The rotisserie chicken is delicious by its self, but can be used in so many ways.
We love taking the meat from the chicken and making baked honey lime chicken taquitos. These are a go to recipe if you are looking for family friendly. They are a yummy finger food that your kids will love just as much as you will.
We try to eat healthy around here every now and again, but it’s not always easy. This bow tie chicken salad is super easy. Take the left over chicken from your rotisserie chicken dinner, throw it on some greens, bow tie pasta, grapes, and parmesan cheese. We love this salad and the kids gobble it up too.

And finally, a slow cooker meal is always simple. Start your meat cooking before you go to work, and by the time you get home it’ll be ready to finish up and there will be little work to finish. We love this honey teriyaki chicken so much we make it pretty regularly. My kids are huge fans of anything that goes on rice so this is a major success in our home.
