Utah is becoming more and more of a place to go for fun, unique and delicious places to eat. Believe me, my family loves to go to Utah original restaurants and food trucks. But when there are so many options I figure I needed to break it down to what I think are the best place to eat in Utah.
If you haven’t been you need to! I am always looking for a place that serves a good burger and a great salad. Cubby’s has both. When I first went I had to get the Dragon Slayer, a burger that they hand press the sirloin patty and mix it with blue cheese. They top it with spring mix, raw onions, tomatoes, pickles, smoked bacon and a homemade creamy buffalo sauce. But if I am trying to be healthy, their Wild Rice and Kale salad has been blowing my mind. Honestly I haven’t had anything there that I didn’t like.

I love a good hot dog, but J Dawgs takes them to the next level. Located in Provo and Lehi it is worth the drive. They grill their dawgs with a spiral cut, but it’s the toppings that get me. The J Dawg sauce is what enhances everything and you can even purchase a bottle for your next family BBQ. I usually don’t want a lot of things on my hot dog, but at J Dawgs I get everything and look like a Carl’s Jr. commercial eating it. If you think you are going to get one of these to go and just eat it in your car, that my not be the best idea, but what do I know.

Crown Burger:
If you live in Utah and haven’t been to Crown Burger yet, you haven’t lived. Best burgers, fries and fry sauce (it’s a Utah thing). They were featured on Man VS Food and believe me, they are the best. Known for their Crown Burger (weird, I know), it is a quarter pound hamburger patty on a sesame seed bun with Thousand Island dressing, Lettuce, Tomato, and Onions, Cheese, and topped with lots of Hot Juicy Pastrami. It is a must for first time customers.

The Curryer:
If you work in downtown SLC then you have got to hit up The Curryer (aka the curry cart). Simple meal of rice, curry chicken and naan. I found them when I was working for Sugar House Farmers Market and have been hooked ever since. I love a taste of Indian food every now and again and The Curryer always hits the spot. They are a food cart, so they aren’t there all the time, but you can follow them on Twitter to see if they are on the corner that day and see what they are serving for the day.

Look, I love a good burger, but to be able to go to a place where I can enjoy a burger or a pizza I am all for it. I personally love the Hires that is located in West Valley: lots of room, grew up in the area so there are a lot of memories and it’s family friendly. I am a Big H Combo guy or Dinner for One if you are craving pizza. Also, I’m no longer drinking soda, but when I cave I have to get a Cherry Coke (even Diet Cherry Coke) from Hires.

I love me some good fries and Spitz has the best, and I can’t speak highly enough of it. I recommend that you try the Street Cart Fries with the works. Trust me, these fries will change your life. Portions are large, so you’ll always have leftovers. It gets busy during prime hours, but it’s worth it.

Dinner is served!!! Never disappoints. Love to eat at local places.

I love a good Philly-style cheesesteak sandwich and that is what I get at Moochies. Features on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, I had to try these suckers out. Believe me, you get a 12-inch cheesesteak sandwich, you will not be leaving hungry. I personally love to order my sandwich with the optional grilled peppers and mushrooms, but the sandwich can definitely hold its own. When they call out your name because your sandwich is ready don’t forget to grab a bottle of their delicious jalapeno sauce that you will want to smother your sandwich with.

Love sushi and want a place with a great ambiance and generous portions? Sapa is the place for you. A friend of mine introduced me to Sapa years ago and I have been hooked ever since. I love eating in the garden area being surrounded by their ancient houses that they imported from Vietnam. Maybe sushi isn’t your thing, they have an amazing menu that I haven’t found anything that I haven’t loved. But honestly what I really love about Sapa is the rolls are generous, service is always fantastic and they take reservations.

Now here’s something you don’t see everyday, Even Stevens is a sandwich place with a cause. Basically for every sandwich you buy, they donate one to the hungry. It’s actually something I am 100% supportive of. I have been there a few times and love every sandwich that I have ordered, but my personal favorite is the Sprang Chicken. Even Stevens is just a great place to get together with friends or family and buy all the sandwiches you can eat because you know you are supporting those less fortunate.

When a food truck is near the office, you go!!! Love me some @cupbop. Delicious!

Look, food trucks are everywhere and they are the biggest thing since sliced bread. That being said, Cupbop is my absolute favorite. A Korean BBQ in a cup that will absolutely blow your taste buds away. I have had multiple cups and my personal favorite is the Hot Bop, Korean style BBQ pork where I usually do a level seven for spiciness. A five is great too, but I for sure can’t handle anything over a seven. They are great to follow on Instagram to see where they will be that day and if you are a Utah Jazz fan, the Vivant Smart Home Arena now has a Cupbop. You’re welcome!
