Healthy Eating Plan: Week 1

February is half way done and people are dropping like flies when it comes to their New Years resolutions. Less people are at the gyms and more people are at the burger joints. It happens year after year, so let’s stop that! Let us get things going and start a healthy meal plan.

If you are wanting to lose fat and keep it off you have to get yourself into a habit and a healthy habit is the best. For the next eight weeks I will give you six meals to eat every day that are simple, healthy and delicious. It’s going to take some time to prepare these meals, but if you stick to this plan you will drop weight, feel great and actually be able to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

I know that life gets hard and it’s especially hard to plan in advance what you are going to be eating for the week. That is why I have created this shopping list to make the process a little easier.

When shopping for these things, make sure that you are planning on eating these things for the next week. I am all about planning and being able to have each meal planned out makes a healthy lifestyle so much easier.

Now for the meals:

                        Meal 1:

A banana, 1 whole egg and 4 egg whites and two slices of whole wheat toast. If you need to spruce up your eggs, add some veggies (peppers, spinach, broccoli) and salsa.

                       Meal 2:

1 cup of frozen berries and 1 1/2 cups Kefir blended together into a simple smoothy. I like to add 2 tsps of fiber to keep me regular.

                       Meal 3:

1 apple, 2 pieces of whole wheat bread with sliced turkey. Spruce it up with lettuce and mustard.

                      Meal 4:

1 Cliff bar. This is just a simple snack to keep your metabolism going.

                     Meal 5:

2 cups green beans cooked, 1/2 cup cooked long grain brown rice and 3 oz chicken breast roasted

                     Meal 6:

4 egg whites. You want to keep your metabolism going through the night, and eggs are a simple solution.

You want to keep eating throughout the day. Try to keep that metabolism up and don’t get to the point where you feel like you’re starving. If you are ever feeling like you need something to eat, just drink some water. I personally keep a 96 oz of iced water around constantly. It makes it easy to drink lots of water when you have it near by and if you have a straw it’s a lot easier.

Going from eating pizza, burgers, fried food all the time to eating healthier isn’t going to be easy, but if you can stick to this and keep motivated you’ll be able to get on track. You can do this and together we will get healthy for our children and families.
