I have been trying to pick up a new TV series because every time I try to start one they do nothing for me. I will watch the first episode or two (if I can make it that far) and then I am over it. I need to be sucked in from the very beginning. Well, I have finally been sucked into Parenthood.
It all started when I was folding laundry the other night and my wife had Parenthood on. I kept asking questions about all the different characters. I really wanted to know how each situation had happened or how they were all connected. I just wanted to know more.
So I looked on Netflix, found season one, and am finally figuring out where their stories began.
It’s interesting too because now that I am a parent myself I love to see the ways that others use to raise their children. Yeah I judge, but I learn too. I realize there are certain things I don’t want to do to my kids and those are really great lessons to learn from others. I want to do all that I can to raise children that are genuinely grateful and really willing to help others because they want to, not because I forced them to.
I have just started, but I already am loving watching the different family dynamics and can’t wait to see this series develops and the lessons I can take away from it.
