Okay okay okay….you get it, we went on a vacation and it was amazing, but really what made it the most memorable was being able to do everything (well, almost everything) with our entire family. Just because we have a one year old doesn’t mean that we have to be held back from what we want to do. Actually, it made everything that much more exciting because it was not only my wife seeing everything for the first time, but also my son.
So you heard about the touristy adventures we had in Oahu, but when we go to Kauai it’s completely different. We like to enjoy more of what the locals do and really try to see everything the island has to offer.
You can’t go to Kauai without hitting up our favorite beach: Lumahai. The rocks in the back are great for jumping off of.
Dieting was so much easier when you got a bed of fresh greens, grilled turkey patty, fresh grilled pineapple, and fresh mango.
We would get up early and go for family walks. This was to the cliffs right behind our condo. Paradise.
If you get the chance, get some fun beach cruisers and ride along the beach. It really was fun, cheep, and great exercise.
Since we were finding fun ways to get exercise, but be together as a family we went kayaking up the Hanalei River.
We had to do something without the little guy, so zip lining it was. Total blast going on King Kong, 1200 foot line.
The best thing we did was rented a hiking backpack and hike the Napali Coast. Gorgeous, adventurous, and hard to do with 30 extra pounds. Totally worth it!!!
We had been dieting for months just for this moment. Best shaved ice!!!
I may or may not look like I just competed in a body building competition, but I was just in weird lighting. But those matching shirts? TO DIE FOR, right? Only in Hawaii.
Whenever we are on Kauai we have to go to the farmers markets all over the island. We love buying the fresh produce all the time.
You have to see Waimea Canyon aka the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Amazing views and so cool!
Thanks so much to my amazing parents for doing this phenomenal trip. We love them so much and are so grateful that we got to experience this trip with my whole family.
